Portuguese Egg Tarts

Bonjour les amateurs de cuisine!
Since I love eating, now I am interested on making some dishes. Well I prefer to make some sweet desserts. I want some warm dessert, because cold dessert like ice cream kills my throat lately. When I was in Beijing for holiday, once I had breakfast in KFC. Surprisingly, I found something that I never found in KFC Indonesia. Well, I had ever seen that sweet-tarts in Jakarta, but not KFC. I wonder what tart is that and ask my tour guide. She told me it was egg tarts. Yeah then I remember the tarts name is from Portuguese, eventhough my tour guide said that the tarts was Chinese recipes. I ask my tour guide to queue on the line to get the egg tarts. After she came back, I take one tart and yeahh! it tastes so yummy. This is the best I ever had in Beijing remembering it was kinda hard getting halal food there.

After that, I never eat them. It's a bit hard to find these tarts in Jakarta. Lisboa is a store that sell these tarts (my mom's said) but I found there was so rare in Jakarta, last time I saw it in Mal Kelapa Gading 1 but I don't know whether the store is currently still there. Glad to know that a bakery in BSD sell these tarts, but it's too far from my home so I decided to make some of them. I browse Portuguese Egg Tarts through Google, then I found it:

Portuguese Egg Tarts Recipe
(Makes 10 tarts)

Ingredients A (Crust):
1 box of Betty Crocker Pie Crust Mix (Net Wt 11 Oz) or 1 frozen and rolled Pillsbury 9-inch pie crust
3 tablespoons melted butter
1/3 cup cold water

Ingredients B (Filling):
4 egg yolks
1/3 cup of sugar (or slightly less if you don’t like your Portuguese egg tarts too sweet)
1/3 cup of heavy whipping cream
1/3 cup of milk
3 drops of vanilla extract

Method:
Stir the pie crust mix, cold water, and melted butter until pastry forms a ball. On a floured surface, roll the dough and cut it into 12 balls. Set aside.
Use an electronic hand beater to blend Ingredients B. Beat for about 3 minutes and strain the filling through a strainer. Set aside.
Preheat oven to 400 F. Butter the muffin pan.
Flatten the balls into small rounds and fit them well into the muffin pan by pressing firmly on bottom and side (do not over stretch). Fill the pie crust dough with the egg mixture (about 80% full).
Bake the Portuguese Egg Tarts at 400F for about 15-20 minutes or until the filling turn brown.

Cook’s Note:
If you use Pillsbury frozen pie crust, you just use it as is, meaning just cut it out into 10 rounds and fit into your muffin pan.

Let's cook then, girls :)

Na'ah!

I don't know what's happening with me. I'm currently just worried about a lot of things, too much.

Random thoughts

Halo! Hari ini gue ga kemana-mana. All day home, except going to supermarket for a while. Hmm spending time at home is my favorite since I live in Bandung these last 3 years. What I like being at home (especially when there is no maid at home) is my mom's homemade cooking, yumm. Seeing the food she served always made me eager to know how to make them. Gue selalu kepikiran kalo suatu hari gue bakal masak buat suami gue, err tapi di sisi lain gue selalu kebayang jadi wanita karir. Errr then can we be both of them? A career woman but also a good mom and a good wife? Hmm let's see then.....

Unusual

Hi, I'm feeling so gloomy tonight. Thoughts are keep dancing on my brain. I do not know how to tell, directly to someone or to a thing (read: blogs). But I am not that kind of lame, writing my sadness on blogs. Well I think it's better to leave. Bye!

Indonesia vs Malaysia Piala AFF 2010

INDONESIA!! INDONESIAAA!!
Yaa begitulah suasana saat ini. Semua meneriakkan nama negara kita. Menjelang pertandingan mulai, jalanan sepi. Perjalanan gue beli martabak pun cepet bgt, hanya saja emang antrian Martabak Favorite ngga berlaku sama. Antriannya panjang banget, bro!

Tetap Semangaattt!! Ayo Bambang Pamungkas!! :D

December is almost done. Counting days for 2011 new year.
This year was too magnificent. Each month has its special stories.
Well I can say that 2010 was the peak.

January I began my IBE class. I've been trying so hard to make myself busy with lots of things. The only reason is to avoid the loneliness, haha laugh as you can, but it's true - it's been 2 years since I am single.
February ITB Fair. A lot of words, a lot of stories. I found such a great new friends that get along well until know. Meet Kinan such a gabut big boss, Fariz the gabut small boss, Mega, Tando, Fitri, Dewi, and lots! It was a great team to work with. LOL.
March New people comes.
April The good news that I elected as Menteri Hubungan Alumni KMSBM, as the next of Kak Fiannita. I'm glad that I work with great people and work on the things I love. The first project is Wisuda April!
May Get along with new people that I never imagined. Day after days..... I found something beats... in my heart hahaha
June The new semester! I was in very santai semester, right after a crazy-near-death semester contains such a jerk courses - Operations+Corporate Finance+Economics+IBE --> DO YOU THINK!!!
July Well maybe i found the-something-missing. The great eight :)
August - December I've been enjoying my last year as an undergraduate students. Being a better students, preparing my final project, and working better to complete my KMSBM proker :)
